Reporting to: Senior Financial Analyst
Your role in the mission:
Type One Energy are seeking an FP&A Analyst who will play a key role in shaping and iterating the company’s long-range financial plan to support our growth trajectory. You will drive forecasting, cash flow modeling, and scenario analysis while supporting budgeting, variance analysis, and strategic decision-making.
In this role, you will serve as a bridge between finance, technical, and operational teams, ensuring alignment between financial goals and company objectives. You will deliver clear, actionable insights to leadership, enabling resource allocation, risk management, and high-growth planning.
This is a hands-on, execution-focused role for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and can seamlessly transition between detailed financial modeling and big-picture strategic planning.
- Lead the iterative development of the company’s long-range financial plan (1yr, 3yr, 5yr horizons)
- Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, valuation, and strategic planning
- Build forward-looking cash flow forecasts to assess sources and uses of funds across projects and corporate initiatives
- Conduct scenario-based analysis to evaluate capital allocation, financing, and growth strategies
- Perform monthly variance analysis and prepare executive-level reporting packages for leadership and the board
- Generate financial reports, presentations, and dashboards to communicate insights to senior management
- Collaborate with technical, research, and operational teams to ensure alignment between financial goals and company objectives
- Partner with Accounting and senior leadership to improve efficiency, scalability, and accuracy in FP&A processes, tools, and systems
- Stay informed on energy markets, renewable technologies, and financial trends to provide relevant perspectives to leadership.
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or related field
- 1–4 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, or public accounting (startup or high-growth environment preferred)
- Advanced Excel modeling skills; ERP experience (NetSuite preferred)
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail and problem-solving ability
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey financial insights to both financial and non-financial stakeholders
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities
- Demonstrated leadership potential and interest in growing into a senior finance role
- Interest or familiarity with energy markets, renewable technologies, or fusion technology is advantageous
