Location: Vancouver, BC
Salary: $25 per hour/ 40 hours p/w
Contract: 12 week Internship Program
Reporting to: Senior Scientist and Engineering Resource Manager
Your role in the mission:
Join our Summer 2025 Internship Program as a Mechanical Engineer (Plasma Diagnostics).
As a Plasma Diagnostic Engineer you will apply your education and experience in the development of plasma diagnostics for a new fusion energy device.
The ideal candidate will have experience in CAD design, Finite Element Analysis, and thermo-mechanical effects. This role will require someone who can work with cross-functional teams to bring complex concepts to life.
- Design and develop CAD models for plasma diagnostics
- Collaborate with Engineers, Scientists, Designers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Utilize advanced software tools to create realistic models that satisfy requirements and objectives
What you’ll need:
- Senior level student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, engineering physics or a related field in 2025. Advanced degree preferred.
- Proven education and experience with CAD and/or finite element software (e.g., NX and/or ANSYS)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proactive, diligent and detail-oriented
