Your role in the mission:
Type One Energy is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Neutronics Engineer with experience in radiation transport analysis to support the design, construction, and licensing of Type One Energy high-field stellarator systems. Ideally the candidate will have experience with a suite of radiation transport codes and their uses for solving nuclear challenges related to performance and safety.
As a Neutronics Engineer, you will play a vital role in the development of our nuclear analysis program in support of both our near-term Infinity One Project and longer-term Fusion Pilot Plant.
- Develop computational solutions for a range of nuclear challenges related to both D-D and D-T fusion devices, including radiation particle transport, radiation damage, nuclear heating, nuclear activation and decay heat analysis, shielding design, dose calculations.
- Perform analyses on neutronics modelling, radiological engineering, nuclear design, and operational health physics.
- Utilize advanced radiation transport tools to evaluate and characterize the impact of multivariate design choices (including materials, geometry, and operational conditions) on multivariate performance metrics.
- Conduct in-depth research and analysis on a variety of nuclear design strategies for fusion systems as it relates to system performance, safety, and radiological waste.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate neutronics and radiological considerations into product development.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and publications to disseminate research findings and contribute to the scientific community.
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of Scientists, Engineers, and Technicians to foster a collaborative environment.
- Collaborate with external partners, including academic institutions and research organizations, to explore potential collaborations and stay at the forefront of fusion technologies.
