Your role in the mission:
Type One Energy Group is seeking an early career or experienced Project Systems Engineer to support an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach in the development of a new fusion energy system. This will entail experience across the entire Project lifecycle including technical planning, functional analysis and requirements development, system integration, verification and validation, cost, and risk analyses for new first-of-a-kind technologies.
This person will work closely with the various scientific and engineering teams to facilitate the transfer of functions and Project objectives and goals into verified requirements that result in a Technology Roadmaps, various Requirements Documents/Specifications, and required Work Plans to bring the preferred design from concept to final. The Project Systems Engineer will support Physics, Design Engineering, Manufacturing, and Project Management by performing the following duties:
- Facilitates functional analysis, requirements development and allocation and interface definition activities to translate functional and performance requirements into hardware and software technical/design requirements to include in requirements documents/specifications.
- Provides integration support to various Project Teams during all phases of total system project development including pre-conceptual, conceptual, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, and maintenance.
- Supports Processes, Policies and Procedure development, review and approval, training and revisions for Systems Engineering, Design Engineering, Operations, and Program Management across the entire Program.
- Supports development of the Program Technical and Programmatic Baselines and helps ensures proper Configuration Management and Change Control for the Program.
- Involved in and supports the conduct of various Program Technical Reviews and Technical Meetings to include technical risks, design progress, issue identification, etc.
- Demonstrates attention to detail and develops and maintains accurate documentation.
What you’ll need:
- MS or BS in Engineering or a similar field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience with design of complex systems (for mid-level position).
- Demonstrated experience in completing Conceptual and Preliminary Designs through preparation, and analysis, of Functions, Requirements, Architectures, Interfaces, Design documentation, and Test Verification documentation (for mid-level position).
- Experience with System Design methodologies, including the application of Genesys, Cradle, and/or DOORS software tools for overall system design and requirements management is a plus.
- Familiarity and/or interest with INCOSE and Systems Engineering is a plus.
- Nuclear or fusion energy experience is a plus.
